My teaching is inspired when I see the face of Winston Churchill. Teaching the events of the 20th Century can be depressing given the influence of dictators, impact of oppressive regimes and the number of crimes against humanity. I need to have a hero, someone who inspires my students and me, to continue to learn about those events and yet still cling to the concept of hope. Winston Churchill is just that historical person and he stands in my classroom as an example of someone who didn’t give up and a reminder of the power of doing what is right.
My students know that Winston Churchill saved the world in the 20th Century.

(I have additional pictures of Sir Winston in my classroom and they include my students.)
