My third grade students were invited to my Alma Mater’s campus, California State University, Northridge where they toured the campus with me and my fellow Professors. They met the Dean of my former college, the President of the University, many of my former professors and toured Science Labs, the Planetarium, Teacher Curriculum Center, Bookstore, Student Housing Dorms, Education Building, Science Building, and the Library. We made the front cover of CSUN’s daily newspaper, the Sundial. My students were also reconginzed for the publication of our class book: Wacky Stories from Wisdom Academy, which the University supports. The trip was founded by the University for my students to obtain a very real establishment of college life. My students grow up in South Central Los Angeles, where our school is located and many of them will be the first to attend colleges in the future.
